If you thought you had a bad year, or you though your stocks took a beating you should count your blessings. If you are mad your property lost some value, remember you still have your life. As I prepare to go to Florida to cover my second Winter Wine Festival, I am struck by the 60 Minutes story on Wyclef Jean, the Haitian born singer who struggles to help his native country after devestating hurricanes. Please take a moment to follow the links and please consider donating some money for people who truly had a bad year and yet hold their heads high and continue to struggle. As a child in Florida, I remember trying to speak a few words of French to these proud people. Their poise always struck me.
Wine isn’t a drink, it’s a part of gatherings, friends, music and life itself. To solely focus on alcohol sales is to miss the point. If we can put down the glass for a moment and open our wallets for the children of Haiti then we will all be a little bit better off.
 Think about it, please.
